So You Want to Look like an Amateur?
If you want to look like amateur, "newbie," or "wanna be" writer, make sure that you always do the following:
1. Don't proofread your work.
2. Think that the world should judge you for your thoughts, ideas, and content and not for your writing or presentation skills.
3. Don't check for formatting inconsistencies.
4. Use lots of stock clip art, and put it everywhere.
5. Don't follow conventions of formal business writing. Use free-flowing or stream of consciousness techniques for business publications.
6. Don't worry about your audience.
7. Don't worry about editing.
8. Don't worry about voice, grammar, spelling, or style.
9. Think that you'll get it perfect the first time. You don't need to waste time on rewrites or revisions.
10. Use lots of fonts and colors. Vary the sizes and styles until your page looks like a ransom note.
Writing so others can understand you is hard work. There are not too many writers who can dash off a masterpiece without any rework.
