What I've Learned from my Dogs...
I went to see Marley and Me today. The book was great, and the movie was fun. Go see it (but take some tissues). I had to come home and play frisbee with my dogs. This is what my dogs teach me...
1. There is always enough time in the day to work in one game of toss the ball, chase the squirrel, or frisbee.
2. They are always happy to see me (no matter what mood I'm in).
3. They are always in a good mood. They live in the here and now. They don't worry.
4. You don't need the latest and greatest gadget. A stick, sock, or old tennis ball will do just fine.
5. They don't care what I look like or what I'm wearing.
6. They're a good judge of character.
7. If you get to go for a ride, it's a good day. (It's also a good day if you get to lick peanut butter off the spoon.)
8. They take direction or criticism, but they don't dwell on the negative.
9. They are wonderful company, and their soulful brown eyes provide a lot of feedback. Hey, my Domino was the only one who faithfully listened as I practiced all my speeches (over and over and over) for my CTM in Toastmasters.
Go hug your dog. If you don't have one, check out a local shelter. Your new friend is waiting.
