I caught the end of this story on NPR's "Fresh Air" yesterday. It was about a foundation that provides service dogs to those in need and to soldiers with brain injuries or post-traumatic stress syndrome. I was amazed that they can teach the dogs to dial 911 (on a special pre-programmed phone).

Another amazing part of the story is that the dogs are trained by prison inmates, and then they are adopted by those in need.
