Customer Service Praises

Since I ranted earlier in the week, I need to praise the two exceptional customer service experiences that I've had  yesterday and today.

I had to call my cell phone carrier's customer support. I ended up with Jane from Alabama. She was pleasant, helpful, and patient. She listened, and she stayed on the line to ensure that everything that I asked for (and more) worked. I appreciate it, and I'll recommend the service to everyone one I see.

I went to the new Wal-mart in our area. I got my exercise just trying to find the dog treats. I have never seen so many brands of ketchup in my life. Chris, who was sweeping the floor, took time to stop and answer questions and to walk me to the popcorn aisle. Michelle checked me out, and she was pleasant and efficient.

Customer service is key in business. My team and I try to model good support, communication, and follow up in our work efforts. It's key if you're providing technical support or documentation. (If people knew how to operate the equipment or software, they wouldn't ask questions, and they wouldn't need our services.)
