Improving Software - Quality Assurance & Technical Writers
I found a way that our technical writing, quality assurance, and development teams can partner to improve software. Our technical writers and QA folks volunteer to help the developers when they are designing and prototyping software. We proofread all screens and error messages. Several times, we've been asked to write all of the error messages. It's a win-win all around. We get well written error messages and screen labels, and the developers don't get a long list of defects relating to typos. when the software finally gets to the testing stage.
