Recent Reads...

We just got back from a week on North Carolina's Crystal Coast. I liked Morehead City and Beaufort and their fun restaurants. While I was there, I finished William Paul Young's The Shack. I haven't read an allegory in a long time. I liked it. It definitely made me think. My husband also read it, so it was good for some conversations on the drive back. It had some concepts that I struggled with. I may need to reread this one.

I also read Janet Evanovich's Sizzling Sixteen. This was more of a traditional beach read. I love her funny characters, and her heroine's antics.

I finished Meredith Cole's second novel, Dead in the Water. It's good. I like the character development of her sleuth. Her first novel, Posed for Murder, is still my favorite.

This weekend, I'm finishing Sharon Short's Death by Deep Dish Pie. I like the home-spun, small town feel. She also has some quirky characters.

I hope you're enjoying your summer reads. Drop me a note and let me know what you've found.
