Recent (and Fun) Reads

It's still hot here on the East Coast! I hope you're finding ways to stay cool this summer. I'm back from the beach, but I'm still enjoying my summer reads. Here's what I've been reading recently.

I saw How Dolly Parton Saved My Life: A Novel of the Jelly Jar Sisterhood by Charlotte Conners on the shelf at the library, and I had to check it out. The title was just too good. I'm glad that I did. It's about four southern women who open a catering business. I like how the women from different socio-economic groups and different points in their lives interact with one another. It's a fun chick lit read. It's one to pass on to friends.

I enjoyed the Seven Year Switch by Claire Cook. I love her books. They are fun reads with interesting characters and situations. I like how she focuses on every-day girl stuff (the over 30 club can definitely relate to her novels). She's funny and current for readers of any any age group. Her books are definitely ones to keep and read again. You need to read all of hers!

I also read Rolling Thunder by Chris Grabenstein. This is the sixth in his series of mysteries set on the New Jersey shore. I'm from a beach community too, and I love how he weaves the beach life and amusement park rides into his titles.

Let me know what you've found on the library and book store shelves.
