MGM's The Wizard of Oz is 71 years old this month. This is one of my all-time favorite movies! Google had a Wizard of Oz tribute logo graphic yesterday.

As an undergraduate, my college used to offer a two-week January term. All the classes were fun. The best one that I took was the history of The Wizard of Oz. At that time, we watched all of the different movie depictions, and we talked about Baum's story and its effect on cinema, children's literature, history, and pop culture.

I think I'm going to watch it again this weekend. It's been a while since I traveled down the yellow brick road.
