We have two geriatric dogs (who think they're people). They used to be able to stay inside for 8 hours without a break. They're getting older. And my "Princess" dog doesn't like to go out if it's raining or snowing.

My neighbor recommended a piddle pad product that she bought for her chihuahuas. We bought one for rainy days and other situations.  It's got an Astroturf-like mat on a rubber base. We put it in the laundry room in case of emergencies. They don't get it. They've never used it for its intended purpose. I've caught them sleeping on it several times. It can't be that comfortable. Oh well, maybe I'll put it on Craig's list.
