Recent Reads: Lancaster and Larsson
I've started reading several books lately that I just can't get into, so I put them down and moved on...
I finished Jen Lancaster's My Fair Lazy: One Reality Television Addict's Attempt to Discover if Not Being a Dumb Ass is the New Black or a Culture-up Manifesto. (Her book titles always make me snicker.) This one has some laugh-out-loud moments. (My favorite is her encounter with Alec Baldwin at a charity book event.) I like her style and her antics. This memoir is focused on her self-improvement through cultural experiences. She calls it her "Jenaissance." If you're a child of the 80s, you need to read her books.
I also finished Stieg Larsson's The Girl Who Played with Fire. So far this is my favorite. I'm well into the third in the series now, so we'll see if that changes.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! I've got to go make spicy meatballs for a potluck tomorrow and make sure my decorations are ready for tonight's Truck-or-Treat.
