Recent Reads: Larsson, Grisham, and Crider
Happy Veterans' Day!
I finally finished the Stieg Larsson series. I enjoyed The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest. Larsson tied up the lose ends of the series, and I liked how his characters evolved throughout the adventures. Has anyone seen the Swedish movies? I usually don't like movies about novels that I like, but I read a review that these were good. Your thoughts/comments?
I read John Grisham's The Confession. I like his story-telling abilities and novels set in Southern towns. In this one, Grisham juxtaposes several ethical quandaries that twist and turn through the course of the novel.
I also enjoyed Bill Crider's Murder in the Air. This is another in his series of Dan Rhodes mysteries that are set in a small Texas town with a lot of colorful characters. It's a fun, quick read about a sheriff (and his two faithful dogs). (There's a cat too, but he's more of a foil for the pups.)
Happy reading!
