Today is the first day of my Christmas vacation. I've got a ton of stuff to do to get ready for Saturday. Everyone is coming for Christmas dinner, and we're going to mix it up this year. (We're all tired of ham and turkey. We're going to break with tradition, and my brother-in-law is making his famous lasagna.)

I've got to do all the mundane things that I put off doing last week, and I'm dragging my feet. As I was logging on this morning, I caught a glimpse of the sunrise over what's left of our snow from last week.

For those of you who missed it, this is what it looked like in Central Virginia. My picture doesn't do it justice. And in an instant, it put things in perspective for me.

I hope you have a joyous, holiday season. The routine stuff will get done. And if it doesn't, that's probably okay too. Enjoy what's around you and enjoy the season!
