Most Literate Cities List - Go DC!

I saw this link this morning to the most literate cities. It's from Central Connecticut State University. Overall, it ranked Washington, DC at the top of the list. My hometown, Virginia Beach, is number 35. (I'm not sure what that says about my current town that didn't make the list.) The survey shows the top 75 localities.

You can also sort the list by each category, book sellers, education, internet, libraries, newspapers, and publications. Check out the list. It's an interesting commentary on who's reading and what areas support literacy.

Their choice is a surprise to me, but it is great. I feel there needs to be more reading done and less TV in this country. It could be encouraged if they had some kind of contest across the country for all age groups and all reading levels.
