Cynthia Robinson's The Dog Park Club
I finished Cynthia Robinson's first Max Bravo mystery, The Dog Park Club. This series has an amateur sleuth who is also an opera singer. Max has an interesting platonic relationship with Claudia, and while helping her with her dog (and her litany of other problems), he meets an interesting cast of characters at the local dog park. Robinson does a great job at revealing the intricacies and interrelationships of the dog park folks and their four-legged charges. The mystery happens mid-way through the book, and it reminds me a lot of the Scott/Lacy Peterson tragedy from a few years back.
The characters are quirky, and there are some really funny moments in the book. I look forward to reading more in this series.
