Dolly Departed is from Deb Baker's Gretchen Birch series. Her amateur sleuth restores dolls with some of her zany family members. In this mystery, the group discovers that a friend who owns a doll store has been murdered on the day that she was going to reveal a surprise. The team works to restore the store display that was trashed during the murder. It turns out that the display is of miniature rooms of famous crime scenes. Gretchen puts the rooms and the clues together to discover the murderer.

It's a fun read, especially if you collect dolls or dollhouses. Baker also writes the Gertie Johnson Backwoods Adventures and the Queen Bee Mysteries (under the name Hannah Reed).
