DEATH ON TOUR - Janice Hamrick
Janice Hamrick's Death on Tour, the winner of the First Crime Novel Award (Mystery Writers of America and Minotaur Books) is a fun mystery. Two cousins from Austin, Texas take a dream tour of Egypt and land in the middle of two murders. They meet a zany cast of characters on the tour, and all of them are not what they first seem (or claim) to be.
In addition, the cousins, Kyla and Jocelyn, are subjects of mistaken identity several times throughout the excursion, and strange coincidences cause Jocelyn to start poking around to clear up some of the questions.
I felt like I was touring Egypt. Hamrick does a great job with the scenery and the history.
The characters are fun, and many of them are quirky enough to be suspects. The novel takes some twists as they travel down the Nile.
Hamrick is very funny, and I look forward to reading more of her work.
