I am such a fan of Michael Connelly (The Lincoln Lawyer). My favorites are his Mickey Haller and Harry Bosch thrillers.

The Reversal pairs the half-brothers Haller (lawyer) and Bosch (police investigator), who are working on a retrial of a child-kidnapping case from 1986. In this book, Haller switches sides of the aisle, and he is working for the District Attorney's office as a consultant. The accused served over twenty years in prison before his case was challenged. Upon his release, the DA decides to recharge and retry him. Haller uses his best defense attorney tactics, and Bosch follows up on every detail. Haller partners with his first ex-wife, Maggie "McFierce" McPherson, and they make a good tag team for the prosecution.

Connelly is a wonderful story-teller. If you war trying to pace a mystery or a thriller, he's a great model. His novels are action-packed, and there's always a reason to hang around for the next chapter.

I probably should have read Connelly's books in order, but I'm spending my summer catching up. This is a good one. It was a quick read because I couldn't put it down over the 4th of July weekend.
