Ft. Monroe - Comment Period for the National Park Service

The National Park Service is considering an application to make Ft. Monroe (near Phoebus and Hampton) a national park. It is a gem on the Chesapeake Bay. The fort, Casemate Museum, and the grounds are steeped with history. We used to attend the Army's Continental band concerts there when I was younger. I loved the stories of all the historic figures who had connections to the fort (Jefferson Davis, E.A. Poe, Al Capone, and many others).

If you've never been, you need check out the grounds and all that it has to offer.

The National Park Service is accepting comments on the proposal to make this a national park. Go to this link to post your comments online. This facility should be preserved for everyone.
