BEST STAGED PLANS - Claire Cook

I needed a change of pace, so I picked up Claire Cook's Best Staged Plans. I really liked her Must Love Dogs.

This is a story of a middle-aged woman, Sandra Sullivan, who's ready to downsize and move on. Her husband's satisfied with the status quo, and her grown son inhabits the basement. There's a tug of war of wants and needs. When her frustrations reach a crescendo, she takes a staging job for her best friend's new young and rich boyfriend in Atlanta. He's rehabbing a boutique hotel.

The novel is of her journey back home, and while on the trip, she encounters some unique characters.

Cook has some very funny scenes throughout the novel that revolve around reading glasses and GPS units. (I haven't had the reading glasses fun yet, but I can sympathize about the GPS. Ours is too bossy, so I turn her off most of the time.)

Curl up by the fire this fall and enjoy!
